About

Meet LeeAnne

I am a problem-solver and innovative self-starter, with a background in Writing, Editing, Event Planning, and Logistics Management. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in English. As the daughter of a JAG officer and High School Guidance Counselor, I understand the structure, flexibility, and what you need to be recognized by top admissions offices. In 2015, I launched my coaching business, and my first student was admitted to Cal Tech. Since then, my students have been accepted to Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, Columbia, Duke, Tufts, Northwestern, UCLA, USC, Tulane, The US Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, Wash U, Sarah Lawrence, UT Austin, Texas A&M, OU, Baylor, LSU, Arkansas, and many other universities. Many of my students are accepted into honors programs and receive merit scholarships, too.

  • I have over 20 years of experience in Writing, Editing, Theatre & Film, and Social Media Management. My diverse background puts me in a unique position to help students who are interested in a variety of degrees and careers.

I graduated from Southwestern University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Minors in Political Science and Theatre. Following my college graduation, I worked on films in Austin very briefly before moving into a career editing and writing for Harcourt/Pearson and ETS. As a freelance editor, I have worked with medical students on their personal statements as they apply for residency programs, assisted doctors with CVs, letters of recommendation, and articles published in medical journals, self-published authors, as well as high school students applying to college. I have also had several of my own creative writing pieces published in literary journals as well as Chicken Soup for the Soul.

As a long-time editor and writer, and an avid reader, I know what it takes to shape a good essay, and I love working with students to hone their writing. (Even the most reluctant writer can learn to love it with the right tools and attitude!) As a mom to two teenage boys, I also understand the pressures both kids and parents are facing in school today. My goal is to help every student write essays they’re proud of, in their own unique voice, and to help families through the college admissions process with as little stress as possible.

I am currently living in Boerne, TX, with my two teenage boys, husband, and two dogs. When I’m not reading, you can find me watching my kids play soccer and basketball, traveling with my family, and cooking!

Meet Somto

  • I am a former LDWLA student and now attend Harvard University (Class of 2026) where I am concentrating in Computer Science with a secondary in Education. My experience spans nonprofit project management, healthcare strategic advisory, and computer science research, but in the future, I hope to work in education technology, utilizing artificial intelligence to make learning more accessible. As a (somewhat!) recent high school graduate, I keenly remember the stressful nature of the college admissions process. Looking back, I can say firsthand that the superlative feedback, personalized submission schedule, and intensive mentorship I received as an LDWLA student was integral to my admissions success; I now eagerly look forward to contributing to the success of future students as a member of the LDWLA team. When I’m not in school, I love trying out new crochet patterns, attending concerts with friends, and reading great books.
